Examining...
Gospel Timelines

So who arrived at the tomb first? That's how it began for me. With Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John all telling this account separately, it took a bit of sleuthing to put Easter morning into sequence. Again, I'm in the camp that the Gospels are right and we just need to figure out the discrepencies.

So I did.

From Easter morning, I went into Easter Week, and before I knew it, I had all four gospels color coded and the events listed. My private study and subsequent group Bible study reflected on the chronological clues (John rules, Luke drools) to create a reference to year and season. Some events had only one Gospel and anothers had all four. Most of the time, the events fell right in order, but there were a few occassions (Luke) where an anecdote was mentioned out-of-context.

Having it in order made me rethink several stories I'd known my whole life. I've added explanations whenever I had to make an educated guess about where to place an event.

It's a unique study and great resource.
