Examining...
The Beloved Disciple

From the Jordan River to the Island of Patmos.

John—the son of Zebedee, brother of James, and disciple of Jesus—witnessed the early days of Jesus’s ministry and later helped build the church following the resurrection. Author Jason Lee Willis will examine the life of this critical disciple and several mysterious moments of his life. Personally trained by John the Baptist, John's early inclinations were to call down fire upon their enemies yet by the time he writes his letters, he views believers as “little children.” How was this fervent heart transformed?  Why was he considered the Beloved Disciple? And why were there rumors that he would not die? This study will look at three stages of John’s life: His days with Jesus, his purpose in Ephesus, his arrest and exile in Patmos, and his later years in guiding the young Church through hardships.
